Patrina Sexton Topper
IPatrina Sexton Topper is a third-year PhD student. Her dissertation will explore family planning among cisfemale sexual minority couples who utilize health care provider assistance in their fertility efforts. She is interested in healthcare decision making at the beginning and end of life, particularly among historically marginalized populations and their families. She is a research assistant for the Program on Sexuality Technology and Action Research (PSTAR) and has served as a reviewer for the Journal of Nursing Doctoral Student Scholarship for the past two years.
Patrina Sexton Topper grew up on Long Island in New York and completed her BA in Sociology at the University of Dayton in Ohio. She followed her passion for understanding the body and embodied human experience as a licensed, clinical massage therapist, which she has practiced for 13 years in private practice. As a massage therapist she has specialized in pregnancy massage, post-surgical rehabilitation, and hospice and end-of-life care.
