Lecturer

I’ve been a nurse for 28 years, with 24 of those years in critical care. I first got into nursing when I joined the military and completed the Army’s practical nursing program in 1995. I just kept going with my education and eventually ended up at the University of Pennsylvania in their adult acute care nurse practitioner program, graduating in 2004. I’m now an intensivist/critical care nurse practitioner at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota where I’ve worked since 2006. I’ve been clinical faculty with Penn Nursing’s streamlined adult gerontology acute care NP post graduate certificate program since May 2021. I enjoy travel, reading, knitting, exploring new restaurants, and anything to do with animals.

Everyone at Penn has always made me feel welcome and gone the extra mile, both when I was a student and as a new employee of the university. Penn doesn’t just say it cares, it SHOWS that it cares. That is incredibly inspiring.
