Dean on the Road Tour Ends in Boston

On April 19, Dean Villarruel wrapped up her Dean on the Road tour for this academic year in Boston. Well-attended by almost 45 local alumni and friends as well as parents of current students, the Dean shared her vision for the School, and was joined via live-broadcast by Dr. Mary Ersek, Professor of Palliative Care.

Through pre-recorded video, Marcus Henderson, a 2017 President’s Engagement Prize winner and soon-to-be graduate of Penn Nursing, provided details on his award-winning project to connect the homeless population with health care, while Dr. Kate McDonald, Assistant Professor of Nursing, presented her current research on risky behaviors in teenagers, like texting while driving, and how to both prevent injuries and promote health.
