Penn Nursing’s Dean Villarruel Discusses Positive Impact of IBC Foundation in Community
The Independence Blue Cross Foundation is celebrating its fifth anniversary. It was founded in October 2011 as a charitable, private foundation with a mission to lead sustainable solutions that improve the health and well-being of the community. For the past five years, through bold initiatives and strategic partnerships, the IBC Foundation continues to fulfill its commitment in making the Philadelphia region a healthier place to live, work, and play. In a video to mark this important milestone, the IBC Foundation interviewed various partners about its impact in the community. Penn Nursing Dean Antonia Villarruel, PhD, RN, FAAN, offers her thoughts on the integral role the IBC Foundation plays in our students’ academic and professional careers.
