Burke Elected to Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education

Kathleen G Burke, PhD, RN, CENP, FAAN, Assistant Dean for Clinical Nurse Learning and Innovation, at Penn Nursing has been elected a member of the Board of Commissioners for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

She will serve as the representative to professional consumers.CCNE is an autonomous accrediting agency contributing to the improvement of the public’s health. It ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate and graduate nursing education programs and nurse residency programs. As a voluntary, self-regulatory process, CCNE accreditation supports and encourages continuing self-assessment by nursing programs and supports continuing growth and improvement of collegiate professional education and nurse residency programs.
 
CCNE distributed ballots to accredited nursing education programs (baccalaureate, master’s, Doctor of Nursing Practice, and post-graduate APRN certificate) and accredited nurse residency programs, to be cast in the elections for the CCNE Board of Commissioners and the CCNE Nominating Committee.
