National Award for Penn Nursing Professor

Martha A.Q. Curley, PhD, RN, FAAN, Professor of Nursing at Penn Nursing and the Ruth M. Colket Endowed Chair in Pediatric Nursing Science at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, will receive the 2024 Research Innovation and Translation Achievement Award from the American Thoracic Society (ATS).

This award recognizes outstanding contributions to the advancement of respiratory research focused on specific innovations to improve health by advancing practice, policy, and health care delivery. This includes but is not limited to drug/device discovery and development, implementation, and regulatory science, as well as basic, translational, clinical, public health and health services research. The awardee’s contributions demonstrate real-world innovation with tangible benefits to address unmet respiratory health care needs. The award also recognizes their accomplishments and role as leaders pursuing team science through collaborative approaches, both interdisciplinary and inter-institutional.

Curley will be presented with the award at the plenary session of the ATS 2024 Conference on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at the San Diego Convention Center.
