“As an abortion provider in a city where health outcomes are poor and disparities are stark, I have seen firsthand how important it is for pregnant people to be able to access abortion care and family planning services.

The pandemic threatened to exacerbate existing barriers that pregnant people face when seeking abortion care, barriers that can already seem insurmountable. The dedication to providing essential care that I have seen displayed by staff who are juggling caregiving responsibilities, financial hardships, constant change in their workplace, and unrelenting threats by those in the anti-abortion movement, has been profound. I am so proud to be a part of the team of healthcare providers ensuring that people are STILL able to choose for themselves when and if they want to be pregnant; the implications on the immediate and future health of individuals and families are immeasurable.”
