University Datacenter Maintenance

On Saturday, August 3, 2019 beginning at 5:00 a.m., the University will perform system maintenance on a number of administrative applications.

ISC will be performing scheduled Data Center network maintenance the weekend of August 3rd & 4th. During this time, many ISC services and systems will be offline and unavailable. 
 
Impacted Administrative Applications include but are not limited to:

  • All payroll systems (PBP, PennWorks)
  • All student systems (Penn-In-Touch, SAM, SRS, Pennant)
  • Archives
  • Atlas
  • Athletics
  • BEN Deposits
  • BEN Financials
  • Business Services (Parking, Dining, Campus Express, Starrez)
  • Data Warehouse collections
  • Facilities
  • OASIS
  • Penn Community
  • Research Services systems (PennERA, PennERS)

 Additional impacted services include but are not limited to:

  • Contact Center (ACD)
  • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
  • AirPennNet-Guest

 We do not expect this maintenance to cause any service disruptions or downtime for:

  • Cloud-based services such as PennO365, Penn+Box*, Concur, Workday, etc. 
  • Penn Email Routing
  • AirPennNet, AirPennNet-Device, and eduroam
  • PennKey authentication
  • PennNet Phone**
  • PennNet Ethernet Ports
  • Systems in the FM space

* To access Penn+Box on the web, use http://upenn.box.com. The http://box.upenn.edu alternative URL will be unavailable during this maintenance window.

**Email delivery of PennNet Phone Voicemail messages relies on the SMTP Relay service so new voicemail messages will not be delivered via Email during the 2-day outage.  The voicemail system will still accept new messages and outgoing email will be queued until the SMTP Relay service is restored, so no voicemail messages will be lost – just delayed.

If you rely on voicemail email delivery for critical operations, we recommend you to make sure your voicemail delivery method is set to “4 - Email and telephone” through PPS.  You will be able to dial 215-746-8000 from a telephone and log into your mailbox to check new messages.  You can also enable “Out Call Notification” if you would like the voicemail server to ring another number whenever there’s new voicemail.  All settings related to voicemail can be modified via PPS under the “Features and Voice Mail Settings” page:
