RE: Spring 2021 COVID Testing Program

Dear Students,

One more email today – many of you have written to me to ask if you will still need to do the COVID testing if you have or will receive the vaccine in the near future. The answer is YES.

The testing is a University requirement. The data regarding the vaccine is very new and we don’t know yet if it keeps individuals from still contracting and potentially transmitting the virus. We also don’t know if it protects everyone equally. There is just too much unknown at this point.

Please also note that once you are vaccinated, you must still wear a mask, practice physical distancing and wash your hands to continue to protect those that are not vaccinated. We still have a long way to go with this pandemic but the future is looking brighter.

Have a good weekend!
