Message from Terri Lipman Regarding Community Activities
Dear Penn Nursing Family,
These are extraordinarily challenging times. As a consequence, a number of activities and initiatives have been suspended. However, our commitment to under resourced, marginalized communities cannot be put on hold during this time of great need. Many of you have asked how you can provide support under these circumstances. Two of our valued community partners, Families Forward Shelter (associated with CHOP’s Homeless Health Initiative (HHI)), and Puentes de Salud have reached out to us. Families Forward is Philadelphia’s largest emergency shelter for families. Puentes de Salud (Bridges of Health) provides high-quality health care and educational programs for Philadelphia’s rapidly growing Latinx immigrant population. These partners, that have provided so many opportunities for our students and faculty, have requested donations to support their tireless efforts to provide resources and services. We had initially planned to organize drop off sites for the items needed for shelters, but the need for all of us to stay close to home has precluded that effort. Monetary contributions are ideal for both Families Forward and Puentes de Salud . Any amount will be appreciated.

Thank you so much for your ongoing commitment to being the best neighbors that Penn Nursing can be! Please stay safe and stay healthy.
