What can the Instructional Design Team do for you?

Whether you’re new to incorporating technology into your classes or have been doing it for years, the instructional design team wants to help you get the most out of the tools available to you at Penn. We’re happy to meet with you face-to-face, by phone, or in a web-conference to help you use our learning management system as well as a variety of instructional tools.
We can help you:
- Get started with Canvas
- Follow best practices for presenting course content online
- Create engaging video lectures
- Use new educational technology tools
- Organize your course to help students stay on track
- Build activities that facilitate a variety of assessment methods (like peer review)
To get started, please contact Erin Marshall , Online Learning and Instructional Design Manager.
For course development help, contact us at least 4 weeks before the first day of your course.
Need help getting started on your Canvas course website?
As a first step, request a course site on Canvas. Canvas sites are not generated automatically for every course; they are created upon request by the instructor.
Course site requests should be submitted no later than 3 weeks prior to the start of the semester.
The Penn Canvas support team at the library offers assistance with technical questions and issues related to Canvas, and the team completes new course site requests. Contact email@example.com .
Meet with us!
The instructional designers are offering individual, thirty-minute Canvas training sessions for faculty teaching online, hybrid, and even traditional courses. Even if your course isn’t online, you should still learn the tools Canvas provides in order to efficiently communicate with students.
