Advisory Board
The Bates Center is a freestanding research center at Penn Nursing. Center leadership works closely with the Advisory Board, which represents a constituency drawn from the worlds of nursing, healthcare, archives, academia, business, and philanthropy. The Advisory Board’s role is to provide recommendations regarding strategic direction, to link the Center to new stakeholders, to be an advocate for the Center, and to play a significant role in fundraising. Sandra Lewenson is the current chair of the Advisory Board, appointed in fall 2018. She succeeded Neville Strumpf, who served as chair from 2011- 2017. The Advisory Board meets twice a year to review the Center’s growth and discuss ongoing and future programs. The Advisory Board offers invaluable advice, strong support, and good counsel for all the Center’s initiatives.
