Desiree Fleck, PHD, ACNP-BC, PCNP-BC
Desiree Fleck, PHD, ACNP-BC, PCNP-BC is an acute care nurse practitioner who uses her clinical and leadership skills to improve patient outcomes. Desiree is well-versed in principles of advanced practice nursing, undergraduate nursing and the DNP program at Penn. She joined the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania in 2012 as a project manager on a multi center, randomized control research study and then as a lecturer in 2016. She teaches on all levels of education.

Teaching
Dr. Fleck has taught in all levels of education including the A/BSN, MSN and the DNP program. Since most of her experience is as an NP, she is most comfortable there and loves to watch the students grow throughout their tenure. She gets equal joy at watching the A/BSN students grow as well as the DNP students. Dr. Fleck is involved in the Data analytics course as well as the business course.
Research
Dr. Fleck has been involved in research at all levels from data collection to project manager and COPI. Her research interest at heart is the self-care of emerging adults with Congenital Heart Disease.
Clinical Practice
Dr. Fleck has most of her experience in cardiology and cardiac surgery, especially Adult Congenital Heart Disease having started the clinical between Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and CHOP.
Selected Career Highlights
Dr. fleck is also involved in Sigma Theta Tau International, or simply Sigma, the international nursing honor society. Most recently as Vice President and soon to become President of XI Chapter at Penn. She serves on the planning board for the longest standing consortium within Sigma in our tristate region.
