Angela is employed by the NC Division of Public Health and is the assistant director of nursing and field staff manager for the Office of the Chief Public Health Nurse. Angela began her career in public health in 1994 and has vast experience in all areas of local and governmental public health and public health essential services. Angela and has most recently served as part of the NC state COVID-19 response team and was the Chief Operations Deputy for the FEMA mass vaccine clinic providing over 150,000 vaccines and as lead for COVID-19 therapeutics allocation. Prior to coming to the Office of the Chief Public Health Nurse, Angela managed a statewide program for care management for at-risk children. She served as a subject matter expert nationally for care management of children with chronic illness and special health care needs. Currently, Angela leads a team of nurse consultants, administrative and financial consultants, and emergency preparedness and environmental health nurse consultant who provides statewide support for all 100 counties and 86 local health departments in NC. Angela also supports the Office of the Chief Public Health Nurse and the NC Division of Public Health through special projects and special assignments. Angela received her Master of Science in Nursing in 2022 and a certificate in leadership and management and is a certified professional in health care quality (CPHQ).
