Amy Thomas, MSN, APRN, FNP

Amy Thomas is the System Chief Nurse Executive for the Hawai‘i Pacific Health System, which includes Straub Medical Center, Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women and Children, Pali Momi Medical Center and Wilcox Medical Center on the island of Kaua‘i. Amy leads efforts to enhance nursing excellence among the over 2,200 nurses within HPH’s medical centers and clinics in order to provide the highest quality care for our patients and community. Amy also serves as director of clinical education, employee health, and workers’ compensation, which involves managing medical library services, educational opportunities, and employee health, safety, and well-being programs for HPH’s more than 7,500 employees.

Amy has more than two decades of experience as a nurse, educator, and leader. She is highly active in the healthcare community, serving as an HPH Liaison and community steward for many healthcare-focused initiatives that support healthcare education and nursing. Amy received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and a master’s degree in nursing from Hawai‘i Pacific University (HPU). She has served as an adjunct faculty member for HPU’s nursing program for the past 20 years.
