Lauren Fisher, BA, BSN
Lauren Fisher is a predoctoral student in the NewCourtland Center for Transitions and Health. Lauren is interested in exploring how uncertainty around prognosis of a neurodegenerative disease diagnosis affects decision making and well-being in both patients and their care partners. After attaining her BA in neuroscience and chemistry, Lauren began her research career as a research coordinator for clinical trials for patients diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disease. It was during this time that she began learning about many of the non-pharmaceutical needs for these families that could enhance quality of life. Combining her experiences in research and nursing care, Lauren hopes to improve families’ understanding and overall well-being in relation to a neurodegenerative disease diagnosis.
