Kierra Foley is a enthusiastic and energetic nursing student at the University of Pennsylvania. The healthcare needs of underserved communities are of particular interest to her, with an emphasis on the health and wellness of aging LGBTQIA individuals. She is also passionate about serving the needs of low-income communities. She hopes to apply my academic humanities background to being a caring and empathic nurse with a sensitivity for cultural and personal differences, thereby practicing patient care with a holistic approach to the well-being of patients. Kierra is a first-year PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania. Her current research interests focus on the health and wellness of sexual and gender minority elders. She is interested in how access to housing impacts this population’s health.
