Lucy Andersen, RN, BSN
Bio
Lucy is a doctoral student at Penn. She graduated from Villanova University in 2018, magna cum laude and was a Davis Family Grant recipient and completed research on women’s access to water and urinary tract infection rates in Haiti. After graduation, Lucy worked as a hematology-oncology nurse at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital for over 2 years, was a DAISY Award Nominee, and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and Oncology Nursing Society. Lucy’s experiences working with patients who have hematological malignancies in the diverse area of Washington, DC has guided her focus on the impact of social determinants of health on oncology patients. She is particularly interested in patient outcomes and quality of life of persons who receive CAR T-Cell therapy and other emerging immunotherapies.
