Yeji Hwang is a third-year doctoral student at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, NewCourtland Center for Transitions and Health. Her research interests focus on examining perceived social isolation among people with dementia. 

Hwang earned her BSN and MSN at Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea. Before coming to Penn, she conducted research about driving cessation in older adults, subjective age in older population, and about reminiscence therapy in people with dementia. She is interested in behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia and their relationship to other factors.
