Dr. Amy W. Stimpfel’s current research builds on her pre- and post-doctoral work, focused on identifying modifiable conditions in nurses’ work environment that influence nurse well-being and patient outcomes. She primarily uses theories and methodologies from health services research, occupational health, sleep/chronobiology, and nursing. Dr. Witkoski Stimpfel has published her research findings in a variety of health policy, management, and nursing journals. She has received grants from the American Nurses Foundation and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). She is also currently the Co-Director of the PhD/DNP Training Program in Occupational and Environmental Health Nursing funded by NIOSH at NYU Meyers. Dr. Witkoski Stimpfel began her nursing career working at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania after obtaining her BSN, cum laude, from Villanova University.
