Penn Nursing Ranked #1 in the World for Eighth Consecutive Year
“A Penn Nursing education tells the world that you were prepared by the best, expected to be a true leader in nursing and beyond,” said Antonia M. Villarruel, the Margaret Bond Simon Dean of Nursing. “To be ranked the #1 school of nursing in the world for the eighth consecutive year cements that reputation in place and unequivocally reflects the impact of our School—students, faculty, alumni, and staff—in working alongside global and local communities to identify health challenges and innovate solutions that advance health equity for all. I am extremely proud that our School has been recognized for excellence once again, and am proud to continue working with colleagues across the globe to amplify our individual and collective impact on health.”
The 2023 QS World University Rankings by Subject is based on academic reputation, employer reputation, and research impact, and aims to help prospective students identify the world’s leading schools in their chosen field in response to high demand for subject-level comparisons. Each of the subject rankings is compiled using four sources. The first two of these are QS’s global surveys of academics and employers, which are used to assess institutions’ international reputation in each subject. The second two indicators assess research impact, based on research citations per paper and h-index in the relevant subject. These are sourced from Elsevier’s Scopus database, the world’s most comprehensive research citations database. These four components are combined to produce the results for each of the subject rankings, with weightings adapted for each discipline.
