New Nursing Scholarship Supports Tri-State Students

A new scholarship—launched with a gift from Emily Verno Schriber Nu’09, Jameson Schriber, and Goldman Sachs Gives—will provide much-needed financial support to Penn Nursing students in need of aid to attend our School.

The Verno-Schriber Family/Goldman Sachs Gives Endowed Scholarship specifically provides aid to students who live in New Jersey, New York, or Pennsylvania, with first preference given to New Jersey residents.

Margaret Bond Simon Dean of Nursing Antonia M. Villarruel, PhD, RN, FAAN says, “It is scholarships like the Verno-Schriber Family/Goldman Sachs Gives Endowed Scholarship that put a Penn Nursing education within reach for so many of our students—eighty-five percent of our students rely on financial aid, particularly our first-generation students. Diversifying the nursing workforce starts by diversifying our student body, and leveling the playing field for students in financial need makes all the difference.”
