New case study offers insight to COVID-19 vaccination efforts in Nursing Homes

Ashley Ritter, NewCourtland leaders, and center director, Mary Naylor, publish case study on vaccine uptake activities in a community nursing home, including implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination condition of employment policy in the Journal of the American Medical Directors Association (JAMDA).

August 10, 2021

The team shares their strategies and process to increase the safety of staff and residents at an 180-bed skilled nursing home.

With almost 250 employees, the vaccination as a condition of employment resulted in approximately 90% compliance at the initiation of the process. Full compliance was achieved through an early, structured engagement plan with consistent and transparent communication, including personalized outreach to address hesitancy with employees.
