Second Annual Story Slam
Made possible through the support of Penn Nursing Advisor Sandy Samberg, Nu’94, GNu’95, and her husband Joe Samberg, and in partnership with First Person Arts, the Story Slam is the brainchild of Penn Nursing’s Director of Innovation, Marion Leary.
“After the success of our inaugural Story Slam last year, we were thrilled to have the opportunity to make this an annual event,” said Leary. “To be able to bring our nurses together, work with them as storytellers, and hear their incredible stories that span the depth and breadth of nursing is a humbling experience.”
Participants this year included current Penn Nursing students, nurses on staff within the University of Pennsylvania Health System, as well as alumni from Penn Nursing, the HUP School of Nursing, and the University of Pennsylvania.
“It was my privilege to be part of such a powerful evening of storytelling. What a healing opportunity for me to be among fellow nurses [who] represent the qualities that make me grateful every day to be a nurse,” shared storyteller Amy Edgar, APRN, CRNP, FNP-C, GNu’96, founder of Children’s Integrated Center for Success. “Here’s to the Year of the Nurse and Midwife!”
