Meet our Team
Wendy Grube, MSN, CRNP
Wendy Grube, MSN, CRNP is a Lecturer and Clinical Specialist in
the Women's Health Care Studies Program. She received a MSN as a Family Nurse
Practitioner from the University of Pennsylvania in 1982, and although she is
certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, has devoted her entire NP practice to
the provision of health care for women. She created Nurse Practitioner
Associates, an NP-owned private practice in 1990, which successfully remained in
operation until 2002. With a major work interest in cervical cancer prevention,
she has been active in promoting the role and the education of the nurse
colposcopist since 1988. Her major area of interest for research is in the
prevention of cervical cancer in economically disadvantaged and geographically
isolated women. Working with health care training agencies, she has provided
lectures throughout the United States on issues such as contraception, cervical
cancer screening and management of abnormal Paps, sexually transmitted diseases,
and menopause-related issues. She has been elected President of the Philadelphia
Colposcopy Society, and also elected to the National Medical Committee of
Planned Parenthood Federation of America. She was given the Miriam Manisoff
Award for outstanding contribution to the role of the Women's Health NP. Wendy
has also received formal education in Botanical Medicine and Homeopathy, is a
registered professional herbalist, and currently teaches the Complementary and
Alternative Medicine (CAM) course in the School of Nursing. She is the author of
a chapter on endometrial biopsy in Varney's Midwifery, and the prevention of
cardiovascular disease in postmenopausal women in Textbook of Botanical medicine
for Women’s Health (in press).
