Women's Health Care Studies Programs
Clinical Practice
A central strength of the Women's Health Care Studies Programs is
faculty involvement in clinical
practice. In any given year, the majority of faculty are in practice. This enables each individual to consistently grow in their profession
through keeping abreast of the latest evidence supporting safe clinical
practice. In addition, the ongoing clinical experience enables the faculty to
generate pertinent questions for research regarding the health care of women and
their families.
Current faculty practice includes opportunities to work with
teenagers, assist women from immigrant communities, consult on public health
projects, perform ultrasounds and antenatal testing, and practice both
obstetrics and gynecology. The Penn WHCS faculty has a strong history of
research and publications, all of which grow out of their clinical practice.
