As independent practitioners, graduates of the Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program have the autonomy to play a unique role in advancing the well being of women
This program focuses on the primary health care needs of women from adolescence through the advanced years, concentrating on promoting and maintaining wellness. In addition, it examines influences that affect women’s lives, such as public policy, advances in technology, and ongoing research. The curriculum addresses a range of women’s health issues including normal pregnancy, prenatal management, fetal evaluation, alternative medicine, clinical management of family planning, well woman health care and menopause, and primary care associated within women’s health.
Graduates are eligible to become recognized by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as Women's Health Care Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners (CRNP). Successful completion of the program qualifies graduates to apply for national certification as Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioners by the National Certification Corporation (NCC).
