Sigma Theta Tau Membership

The University of Pennsylvania’s Xi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing, annual membership is open for 2010. We strongly encourage all qualified students to apply by completing a membership application supported by two (2) letters of recommendation/endorsement from current members of Sigma Theta Tau International, and a copy of your transcript.

Undergraduate students must have completed at least one-half of the nursing curriculum, have a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale, rank in the upper 35% of the graduating class, and meet the expectations of academic integrity.

Graduate students (masters) must have completed at least one-fourth of their nursing program of study, have a GPA of at least 3.5, and meet the expectations of academic integrity. Students in doctoral programs are required to achieve 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 grading scale or its equivalent.

Community Leader Membership applicants must hold a minimum of a baccalaureate degree, or the equivalent; have demonstrated marked achievement in education, practice, research, administration, or publication.The application form for Community Leaders must be accessed through Sigma Theta Tau International.

All completed applications should be returned to the Sigma Theta Tau mailbox, Claire M. Fagin Hall, Level 1P.
