Student Nurses at Penn
Welcome to SNAP
SNAP is the School of Nursing's main undergraduate student organization. Come to our monthly meetings for studying tips and career advice not just from SON faculty, but also from your classmates. We've hosted panels on study abroad, pursuing a minor or dual degree track, securing an externship, submatriculation, and more. Also, we always have pizza at our meetings!
SNAP is a chapter of the National Student Nurses Association.
NSNA registration is separate, and you can sign up for NSNA here.
Only $40 a year secures you great opportunities to network, meet other nursing students, discounts on books and NCLX reviews, scholarships, and more! Our members have taken advantage of leadership opportunities at the state and national level, and have also presented resolutions at NSNA conventions.
The Student Nurses Association of Pennsylvania
is the among the largest of NSNA state constituents, bringing together students from other reputable nursing programs in the state. Our chapter attends events like the annual convention each November, as well as events centering on leadership and policymaking. Every year, we present resolutions, students run for state board, scholarship winners, and more.
If you'd like to take advantage of pre-professional development trips like these, event registration info will be in weekly SON emails. Sign up for the listserve by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
How to Get Involved
Come to our meetings and sign-up to be in a committee. Dates will be in the SON weekly emails and listserve announcements. Our committees have projects you may be interested in as well--whether it's fundraising, organizing blood drives, public relations, and even legislation. See "Committees" tab for details on our different committees. Receive points for attending these meetings and by participating in committees; you must have 50 points a semester to be considered an active member of SNAP. See "Points System" tab for details.
