Page Content
Dr. Jianghong Liu of the Family and Community Health Department is the recipient of a 5-year, $1.73 miliion R01 from NIEHS for her proposal "Lead exposure, externalizing behavior and neurobiological mediating factors." This new R01 builds on Dr. Liu's current NIEHS-funded K award and unique data from an on-going large prospective cohort study in China. The overarching goal is to assess whether early neurocognitive impairment can account for the relationship between lead exposure and externalizing behavior in children. Findings have potential theoretical and clinical implications for understanding the symptoms of neurocognitive and emotional effects of lead exposure on children's externalizing behavior.
This new R01 will enable Dr. Liu to assess whether early neurocognitive impairment can account for the relationship between lead exposure and externalizing behavior in children.
