Supporting the Institute of Medicine’s long-standing mandate to work toward delivering care in a more safe and effective way, this minor focuses on improving operations to reshape quality and safety in the nursing profession.

This certificate program focuses on patient-centered care, teamwork and collaboration, evidence-based practice, quality improvement processes, safety, and systems-thinking skills toward improving the quality and safety of healthcare delivery. Curriculum
This three-course certificate can be done simultaneously with any graduate clinical program, and works to prepare advanced practice nurses to implement quality improvement processes and measure the resultant outcomes. You’ll take Principles and Practice of Healthcare Quality Improvement and Systems Thinking in Patient Safety, as well as one practicum course unit.
