Clinical and Didactic Teaching Positions

Undergraduate Positions:
All candidates for clinical teaching positions must have a master’s degree in nursing and a current Pennsylvania nursing licensure. Relevant clinical experience is required; teaching experience is preferred.

Family or Pediatric Advanced Practice Nurse interested in a part-time clinical teaching opportunity at the junior level in BSN Program. This seven-week course is offered in October & November and March & April and focuses on the nursing care of children with acute and chronic health problems and their families. Clinical teachers usually work 12 hours per week and most sections meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays although other days or evenings may be negotiated. Previous work experience at CHOP preferred.

Psychiatric Mental Health Advanced Practice Nurses interested in a part-time clinical teaching opportunity at the senior level in the BSN Program.  This seven-week clinical course focuses on the application of theories and principles to persons with psychiatric disorders and their families. Student clinical experiences occur primarily in acute care settings with optional experiences in a variety of primary care, acute, and long-term care settings.  In the fall semester (September-October), Clinical teachers usually work 16 hours per week and most sections meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays although other days or evenings may be negotiated.

Adult or Family Advance Practice Nurse, with primary care, home care or general community health nursing experience, interested in a part-time clinical teaching opportunity at the senior level in the BSN Program.  This seven-week clinical course focuses on the synthesis of community health nursing theory through provision of nursing care to clients in community settings. Implementation and evaluation of nursing care is emphasized for clients in the community with common functional and physiological problems.  In the fall semester (November-December), Clinical teachers usually work 16 hours per week and most sections meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays although other days or evenings may be negotiated.
