"Outstanding courses, clinicals, & professors from Penn established a firm foundation for me to start my career. Although practicing in a specialty has allowed me to become an expert in one area, I continue to rely and draw on my training in Primary Care to provide the best care from my patients."

Since graduation, I am glad to say, I have been able to positively impact the lives of many children and families. Penn opened the door for me to have a successful and satisfying career as a PNP."

Lolita Carter, MSN, CPNP
MSN 1997
Primary Care Nurse Practitioner – South Philadelphia

My area of interest is adolescent health. Penn’s Primary Care program gave me the foundation to understand this population. Today I practice in an urban setting. I collaborate with various disciplines involved in improving the health and welfare of adolescents. I carry out researched based interventions and evaluate their impact on health and developmental outcomes to improve the lives of my patients.
