Please refer to the enclosed brochure from the campus Computer Connection’s annual Back-to-School sale. The configurations for desktop and laptop systems were derived in anticipation of your needs over the next four years, and discounts were negotiated for Macintosh and Windows platforms. Note: Apple computers are not supported in the School of Nursing.

If you are planning to purchase a computer before arriving on campus, we recommend that you select one of the Windows systems supported by the University. Use the brochure as a guide in choosing the best system to meet your needs. If you plan to purchase a system from elsewhere or want to evaluate a system you already own, please compare the specifications to the ones offered in the brochure. Some vendors may be willing to sell you a less expensive system (with fewer features, less RAM or a slower processor), but there is no guarantee that these compromises will serve you well for the time you are here at Penn.

You may also want to consider purchasing a printer. There are printers available in the School’s labs, with a per-page printing cost. There are also printers available in other campus labs, each with their own per-page printing costs.
