Lisa M. Lewis, PhD, RN has been promoted to the rank of Associate Professor with tenure in the Standing Faculty effective July 1, 2013.
Dr. Lewis’ research focuses on reducing disparities associated with racial differences in high blood pressure management and adherence to hypertensive mediation therapy in older African American adults. Dr. Lewis recently received an R01 from the National Institutes of Health to support a study examining medication adherence factors among hypertensive African American men and the development of strategies to overcome those challenges.
Dr. Lewis received the 2012 American Heart Association Council on Cardiovascular Nursing Clinical Article of the Year Award and induction into the American Academy of Nursing.
