Dr. Whelan Named President of AAHN
Page Content Jean Whelan, PhD, RN has been named president of the American Association for the History of Nursing. Founded in 1978, The American Association for the History of Nursing is an organization that advances historical scholarship in nursing and healthcare and promotes the development of nurse historians. Dr. Whelan is the Assistant Director for the Barbara Bates Center for the Study of the History of Nursing. Her research focuses on the historical development of the U.S. nursing workforce and the policy involved in maintaining adequate nurse services. Dr. Whelan’s term begins September 30, 2012.
