Barbra Mann Wall, PhD, RN, FAAN is the recipient of the 2013 Lindback Award for Teaching Excellence for standing faculty. The Lindback Award is one of the highest accolades a faculty member can receive indicating that the faculty member is an exceptional teacher and outstanding member of the faculty.
Dr. Mann Wall is an internationally recognized expert on the history of Catholic hospitals and the religious men and women who created them. Her recent work addresses the history of disaster nursing in the Southwest and the range of discourses people drew upon when interpreting disasters of the past.
Within the School of Nursing, Dr. Mann Wall was at the forefront of the development of the new undergraduate curriculum and, as Chair of the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee, in its implementation. She led the development of, and now directs, the School’s minor in Multicultural/Global Health Care.
Dr. Mann Wall will be presented with the award on Wednesday, April 17th at 5 PM in Bodek Lounge, Houston Hall, 3417 Spruce Street.
