Wendy Grube, PhD, RN has been selected to receive the 2013 Provost’s Award for Teaching Excellence by a non-standing faculty member.
Dr. Grube aims to enhance the quality of education to meet the demands of current APRN practice, and expand awareness of culture, healthcare disparities, and systems of healing. Dr. Grube is the Course Director for Health Care of Women and Primary Care, Complementary Alternative Therapies in Women’s Health, and Comparative Healthcare Systems: Thailand and US. She is also the director of the new Bridge Training Program curriculum for the IKP Centre for Technologies in Public Health (ICTPH) program in India where she will design a curriculum that will transition traditional Indian doctors to basic clinical competence in providing evidence-based, allopathic primary healthcare for rural India.
Dr. Grube’s research is an ethnographic study of the influence of culture upon cervical cancer screening among Appalachian women in West Virginia and their healthcare providers.
Dr. Grube will be presented with the award on Wednesday, April 17th at 5 PM in Bodek Lounge, Houston Hall, 3417 Spruce Street.
