Cynthia Connolly, PhD, RN, PNP, FAAN, has been granted tenure within the rank of Associate Professor of Nursing, effective July 1, 2012.
Dr. Connolly is nationally and internationally recognized for her work related to the integration of history and health policy, the history or nursing practice as it affects and is affected by societal forces, and how these perspectives may drive the future of care for vulnerable children.
Dr. Connolly has received the Robert Wood Johnson Investigator Award
in Health Policy Research and the Commonwealth Fund’s Analysis of Child Development Policy. She has written numerous books and was awarded the Mary Adelaide Nutting Award for Exmplary Historical Research
and writing for A Startling New Chemotherapeutic Agent: Pediatric Infectious Disease and the Introduction of Sulfonamidea at Baltimore’s Sydenham Hospital
Dr. Connolly services as the founding section editor of Pediatric Nursing of “The Presence of the Past” and has multiple year appointments to the National Library of Medicine Study Section.
