Administration and Leadership Programs

About our Programs:

At Penn nursing, we recognize that students have diverse interests in advanced administrative or practice leadership fields. Programs are tailored to allow students the opportunity to design a course of study to best suit their career goals. These programs are unique in that students complete coursework at both the School of Nursing and at other programs throughout the University.

The following graduate degree programs are offered:

Nursing and Healthcare Administration

This program draws upon the strengths of a top ranked School of Nursing and the top ranked Wharton School of Business. Comprehensive in scope, this program emphasizes administration in diverse healthcare settings and culminating in a practicum working with a nurse executive or consultant in your field of interest. Students may also elect to pursue the MSN and MBA dual degree program.

Health Leadership

In response to emerging needs, the School of Nursing offers this program for professional nurses who have the vision, creativity and intellect to change the course of healthcare. This program allows you unparalleled freedom to design the focus of your studies. Students may also elect to pursue one of two dual degrees: MSN and Masters in Public Health and MSN and Masters in Bioethics.

Students need to separately apply to each school for dual degree programs and a plan of study is mutually developed with faculty from each program.

Students may also elect to declare a dual major in the School of Nursing and can combine a clinical master's with either an administrative or health leadership major. Students apply once to the School of Nursing but must be accepted to both programs.

"Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality."
