Olga Jarrin, PhD, RN, Ruth Masterson Creber, MSc, and Justine Sefcik, MSN have been named scholars by the National Hartford Centers of Gerontological Nursing Excellence.
Dr. Jarrin has been named a Claire M. Fagin Fellow and will receive up to $120,000 to support postdoctoral research training, mentorship, leadership, and career development. Claire M. Fagin was dean of the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing from 1977 to 1992 and interim president of the university until June 30, 1994.
Ms. Creber and Ms. Sefcik have been named Patricia G. Archbold Scholars and will receive grants of up to $100,000 to support their doctoral training studying gerontological nursing; one-third of the scholars are members of a minority group.
Since 2000, the program has received generous support from the
John A. Hartford Foundation and has supported more than 200 predoctoral and postdoctoral nursing scholars.
