Penn Nursing student, Steven Szablewski, will receive the Ralston Center Award for Gerontology Nursing Excellence.
Steven is a student in the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Program and is committed to primary care for the elderly, and offers compassionate care for patients experiencing acute, chronic, and end-of-life illnesses.
Valerie Cotter, DrNP, CRNP, FAANP, director of the program, and Sue Renz, DNP, GNP-BC, associate director, said Steven is “extremely bright, committed to care of older adults and a true collaborator with patients, caregivers, and peers, as well as faculty and other healthcare providers.”
The Ralston Center has annually awarded educational grants, of $2,000, to two outstanding graduate-level nursing students. Steven will be presented with the award on April 18, 2013 at the Ralston Center, 3615 Chestnut Street at 12PM.
