 Minorities in Nursing Organization

Changing the face of nursing

MNO promotes cultural awareness in the healthcare community. We are committed to community service and providing social and academic support to our members. Our organization is open to all nursing students at the University of Pennsylvania. Through our activities we change the face of nursing! So, look around. Learn. Get Involved. Join Us!

Founded in 2001, the Minorities in Nursing is an organization formed with the mission of promoting cultural awareness and support for all our members. Regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation, MNO is an organization that is open to everyone. MNO seeks to create a forum for discussion about culture and its importance to the nursing practice. In order to accomplish this goal, we hold Cultural Awareness Speakers Series, host potlucks, and discuss how our individual cultures impact our life at Penn. MNO is dedicated to improving the West Philadelphia community through group social events, baking parties, study skill workshops, and an end of the year book sale.
