About Us

Founded in 2001, the Minorities in Nursing is an organization formed with the mission of promoting cultural awareness and support for all our members. Regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation, MNO is an organization that is open to everyone.

MNO seeks to create a forum for discussion about culture and its importance to nursing practice. In order to accomplish this goal we hold Cultural Awareness Speakers Series, host potlucks, and discuss how our individual cultures impact our life at Penn. MNO is dedicated to improving the West Philadelphia Community through educational outreaches and health screenings. MNO also seeks to provide academic and social support to our members through group social events, baking parties, study skill workshops, and end of the year book sale.

We are a proud member of the Student Activities Council and UMOJA.
