Dr. Monica F. Rochman is the Program Director for Nursing Research and Evidence Based Practice at Christiana Care Hospital in Delaware. She provides leadership and strategic direction for nursing research and evidence-based practice through the development, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing research program at Christiana Care. She received her BSN in Nursing and PhD in Nursing Business and Health Systems from the University of Michigan (2005, 2012). After completing her doctorate, she accepted a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing Center for Health Outcomes and Policy Research under the mentorship of Dr.’s Linda Aiken and Matthew McHugh. Her post-doctoral research focused on the impact of nurse staffing and the nurse work environments on in-hospital cardiac arrest survival. She received a competitive American Association of Critical Care Nurses grant to fund part of her research. Dr. Rochman has held positions in policy development, clinical research, performance improvement, and emergency nursing. She worked at the Congressional Research Service through an exclusive program offered by the National Academy of Social Insurance. Dr. Rochman held an appointment at the National Advisory Council on Nurse Education and Practice from 2010-2014. The council advised the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Congress on policy issues related to the Title VIII programs administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Bureau of Health Professions Division of Nursing.
