Alma Vega is the 2015 Dean’s Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. Her research focuses on the social and economic well-being of older immigrants in the U.S. and long-term care among immigrant communities.  Before joining Penn, Dr. Vega obtained a doctoral degree in Demography from the University of California, Berkeley and completed a one-year postdoctoral fellowship in the Division of Labor and Population at the RAND Corporation.  Vega’s research has been generously funded by the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Social Security Administration and the National Institute on Aging.
