Penn Nursing Student Attends US-Mex FoCUS Summit

“I am very excited to unite with peers from around the United States and Mexico who are just as passionate in their respective fields as I am,” Natalie stated prior to attending the event.

Natalie Ball – a Masters of Science in Nursing student – was in Mexico City, Mexico as delegate to the US-Mex FoCUS Summit. FoCUS is a biannual forum that brings together students from the two countries United States and Mexico to discuss the most imperative issues facing both nations. Delegates are selected based on their potential for becoming leaders in a wide variety of sectors including business, government, academia, and journalism.

The cornerstone of FoCUS’s efforts is a 4-day conference held twice a year, once in the United States and once in Mexico. During the conferences, delegates interact with current leaders and experts, while playing key roles in round-table discussions and workshops addressing the most pressing issues facing  US-Mexico relations.

“I am very excited to unite with peers from around the United States and Mexico who are just as passionate in their respective fields as I am,” Natalie stated prior to attending the event.

“The opportunity to collaborate with a variety of disciplines in brainstorming solutions to solve major bilateral issues between Mexico and the United States is very exciting.”

Natalie Ball completed her undergraduate studies at Penn Nursing in 2014 and then volunteered in Nicaragua for a year at a holistic community development non-profit before starting her graduate work.
