Center Director Julie Fairman, PhD, RN, FAAN was recently named the Nightingale Professor of Nursing. In announcing the appointment, School of Nursing Dean Afaf Meleis, PhD, DrPS(hon), FAAN noted Dr. Fairman's extensive research on 20th nursing, as well as her interdisciplinary work on gender studies and overall health care. In addition to her roles here at the School of Nursing, Dr. Fairman also holds a secondary appointment at the History and Sociology of Science Department in the School of Arts of Sciences.
