Barbara Mann Wall, PhD, RN is the recipient of the 2009 Mary Adelaide Nutting Award given by the American Association for the History of Nursing (AAHN). She received this award for her article titled "Catholic Sister Nurses in Selma, Alabama, 1940-1972." Advances in Nursing Science 32(1), 91-102.

The Mary Adelaid Nutting Award is awarded to experienced scholars for their outstanding research in nursing history produced in  a manuscsript or article form.
