In 1942, Tram volunteered to serve in the Army Nurse Corps, where she directed the Nursing Service of the 235th General Hospital in France during World War II. She had the rank of major when she left the army after the war.
Summary. The collection consists of Tram's official Department of War records, reports and correspondence to commanding officers, certificates and commendations, and many photographs of her service in the United States and Europe.
